Our Surrender Process
- Application Required: All owner surrenders must complete the online application before approval.
- $100 Surrender Fee: A mandatory, non-refundable surrender fee is required to help us support your surrender through the transition.
When you need to surrender your pet, we understand it can be a tough decision. We’re here to guide you through every step. First, you can reach out to us via phone or our website to start the conversation. We’ll listen to your situation and assess how we can help. Next, we’ll arrange a time for you to come in for a formal surrender. During this visit, we’ll discuss your pet’s needs and history to find the best solution moving forward.

- $100 Owner Surrender Fee: The surrender fee helps provide vaccinations, medical treatment, food, housing, and rescue care for incoming cats.
- Medical Records Required: Please provide any available vaccination history, veterinary records, and behavioral information.
Why Do We Require a Surrender Fee?
Every surrendered cat immediately begins receiving rescue support. The owner surrender fee helps offset the cost of care and allows us to continue saving vulnerable animals throughout Louisiana.
We intake dozens of cats on a weekly basis that all deserve the same level of care. Your surrender fee helps to offest the cost of increased care, and ensures that your surrendered cat gets the same level of care as the rest of the cats we handle.
- Vaccinations: Core vaccines and preventative medical care.
- Housing: Safe shelter, litter, food, and enrichment supplies.
- Medical Care: Vet exams, testing, medications, and emergency treatment.
- Adoption Support: Helping every rescued cat find a safe forever home.

Please complete the form below carefully and honestly. Once submitted, our intake team will review your request. This non-refundable fee is due upon approved intake and helps provide lifesaving medical care, housing, food, and rescue services for your surrendered animal.
Owner surrenders will not be accepted without an application, approval, and surrender appointment.
